Rediscover Long Grove, the official sponsor of the "shopping experience."

From the scenic, picturesque, quaint, one-intersection town lined with cobblestones to the Covered Bridge, our little town welcomes visitors year 'round to shop and shop and shop. In this fast paced society, Long Grove still has all the elements of an old-fashioned day in the country. Truly an escape nestled in a hidden corner of suburbia, the little town that time forgot is an "experience." Plan your next visit soon! Then, start planning your return...

Historic Long Grove in northeastern Illinois is just 35 miles from downtown Chicago and 75 miles from Milwaukee. Interstate access via I-90, I-94, & I-294 is quite convenient as is access from state expressways Routes 53 and 355.

Once a hub for commerce, socializing and worship for German settlers, the area has retained its Victorian charm while keeping pace with the retail needs of modern times. The old homesteads and farm shops now house merchandise for today as well as for nostalgia. From treasured antiques to hand-carved zebras, there is something for everyone among the more than 80 stores and restaurants in Long Grove.

Partnerships with local hotels within 2 to 10 miles, make booking
overnight reservations simple and attractive for tour operators.

Nearby attractions include The Cuneo Museum and Gardens, Gurnee Mills, Six Flags Great America, Chicago Botanic Garden, Ravinia and Woodfield Mall. Small but fine local museums, including our own 1850's farmhouse, will round out your visit to northeastern Illinois.

SOME SUGGESTED ITINERARIES ARE BELOW:

Itinerary 1 - The Way It Was: Start your day with a tour of the elegant Cuneo Museum and Gardens in nearby Vernon Hills. Then join us for lunch in Long Grove followed by an afternoon of shopping discoveries in our picturesque historic business district and a Chocolate Factory Tour, where chocolate is made the old-fashioned way.

Itinerary 2 - Culture etc.: Start your day with a tour of the elegant Cuneo Museum and Gardens in nearby Vernon Hills followed by lunch and spectacular shopping in Long Grove. After an early dinner, head for Marriott's Lincolnshire Theater or, season permitting, an evening under the stars at Ravinia's famed concert grounds. The next day, take a train ride along the perimeter of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the nation's second most visited public garden. Enjoy a boxed luncheon at the garden before heading onto your next destination.

Itinerary 3 - Shopper's Delight: For the serious shoppers, we suggest starting your day in Long Grove's more than 90 shops, where your clients will find treasures to delight all the senses. Plan lunch at one of our five restaurants and shop some more. Then, head to Woodfield Mall for a light dinner and an evening's worth of, you guessed it, shopping in one of the nation's largest malls.

Itinerary 4 - Country Roads, a day trip: A little history, a little education, lots of shopping, and lots of eating make for the perfect day trip. Travel the area's prettiest roads while visiting the Lake County Discovery Museum, Historic Long Grove and Cuneo Museum and Gardens
